Nothing about it is exotic, which is exactly the point for the one piece of an AR-15 that carries the serial number.

The caliber marking is Multi, so the roll mark does not argue with whatever upper half ends up sitting on top of it. It comes stripped, which leaves the lower parts kit, trigger, buffer tube and grip as the builder's choice. For a first build that keeps the parts list simple and lets the rest of the rifle come together in whatever order the parts turn up. For an experienced builder it is a blank canvas that takes standard AR-15 components. The AR-15 is the most heavily supported rifle pattern in the country, so a stripped lower drops straight into an ecosystem of parts, tools and instructions that has been sorted out for decades, and the receiver itself is the least interesting decision in the whole build - which is how it should be.
