About the Weatherby Vanguard Arctic Pro
The Arctic Pro is a Bill Hicks exclusive build of the Vanguard, and the extras are the reason to look at it. Peak 44 supplies a 20 MOA Picatinny rail on the action and an ARCA and Picatinny rail on the forend, so a scope and a bipod both mount without shopping for hardware. The 24 inch barrel is cold hammer forged and threaded at the muzzle, a brake is included, and every piece of metal wears white Cerakote. The synthetic stock is hand painted in an arctic pattern and shaped with a Monte Carlo comb.
25-06 Rem is an open country cartridge. It pushes a light quarter bore bullet fast, stays flat well past where most people are comfortable shooting, and hits antelope and mule deer harder than the recoil suggests. A 24 inch barrel is the right length for it, since anything shorter starts giving away the speed that makes the cartridge worth owning. The SUB-MOA guarantee and match grade trigger mean the rifle can shoot to that potential without a trip to a gunsmith.
