Roy Weatherby developed the 270 Weatherby Magnum in 1943, and it was the first belted magnum he offered when he opened for business in 1945. It pushes .277 bullets well past what the 270 Winchester can, which makes it a natural fit for pronghorn, mule deer and sheep across open country.

Here it is loaded with a 130gr Barnes TTSX in the Select Plus line. The copper bullet carries no lead, opens from the polymer tip back, and keeps most of its weight for a clean exit. Weatherby rates it at 3400 fps at the muzzle. Each box holds 20rd.
