Taurus TX9 Full Size 9mm 4.5" 10rd Pistol

Taurus built the TX9 around a serialized modular chassis. The chassis is the firearm and the grip frame wrapped around it is a part, which means one registered component can move between full size, compact and subcompact grip modules as what you need out of the gun changes.

This is the full size version, with a 4.5" barrel and a striker fired trigger. The slide is alloy steel in a black nitride finish and comes cut for the Taurus T.O.R.O. system, so a red dot mounts without machining. Iron sights sit in industry standard dovetails, which opens up the aftermarket instead of tying you to factory replacements. The slide release is ambidextrous and the magazine catch reverses, so left hand shooters are not working around the gun. Four interchangeable backstraps come in the box along with two 10 round magazines, which keeps this configuration usable in states that cap capacity. A Picatinny rail runs under the dust cover for a light. Of everything on the spec sheet, the modular chassis is the part that sets the direction of the whole design - it turns the pistol into a system rather than a single fixed gun.
