About the Smith & Wesson Performance
The Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 Metal trades the polymer frame for a metal one and pairs it with a Strike Industries compensator threaded onto a gold PVD barrel. Frame weight and the comp work on recoil from two directions at once, and the gun tracks flat enough that the second shot lands close to where the first one did. The slide is cut for an optic, and the trigger is flat faced.
A night sight up front covers low light work. The barrel is 4.9" and threaded at the muzzle for the compensator, and the gold on the barrel and comp against a black frame is the visual signature of this build. Both 17rd and 23rd magazines are included, and the 23rd magazine turns the gun into a genuine range and competition pistol without any further shopping. M&P grip geometry and interchangeable backstraps carry over from the standard M2.0 line, so the fit adjusts to hand size. This is a heavier gun than a polymer M&P and it is meant to be. Metal frame pistols in this class exist to be shot a lot, and the added mass is what makes the compensator worth having.
