Savage Axis XP Compact 350 Legend 18" 4rd Rifle w/3-9x40 Scope

This is the Axis XP Compact in 350 Legend, running an 18 inch heavy sporter barrel with a 5/8-24 threaded muzzle, button rifling and Savage's thread-in headspacing. Ammunition feeds from a detachable 4 round box magazine. The compact synthetic stock is the short reach version Savage builds for smaller framed shooters, so a young hunter can mount the rifle properly instead of stretching for the trigger.

The receiver is matte black, the stock is black, and the 3-9x40 scope is mounted and boresighted before the rifle ships, which is what the XP package designation covers. The bolt handle is the reshaped version Savage went to on this generation, larger and easier to work with gloves on or in the rain. At 18 inches the barrel keeps the rifle short for a stand or a blind, and the 5/8-24 muzzle threads leave the door open for a brake or a suppressor later without any machine work. Savage builds the Axis XP as a complete package, and on a short stock in 350 Legend it is aimed squarely at a young hunter's first centerfire rifle.
