Savage Axis 2 XP 25-06 Rem 20" 4rd OD Green 3-9x40 Scope Rifle

This is the OD Green version of the Axis 2 XP, chambered in 25-06 Remington with a 20" threaded barrel. Savage sells the XP as a complete package, so the 3-9x40 scope is already mounted and bore sighted when the box is opened. The lenses are fully multi coated and the windage and elevation adjust without tools, which keeps the first range session short.

25-06 Remington is a flat shooting chambering with a long reach, and the 20" barrel keeps the rifle short enough to handle in timber or out of a blind. The AccuTrigger is user adjustable, so the pull can be tuned at home rather than sent out. Length of pull adjusts on the stock as well. That stock is OD Green synthetic with enhanced texturing and a contoured pistol grip with ambidextrous palm swells, a step up from the plain shells that used to come on rifles at this level. A detachable box magazine feeds 4 rounds, the receiver is drilled and tapped, and the threaded muzzle takes a brake or a suppressor. It is a lot of rifle to hand someone as a first centerfire.
