Savage Axis 2 XP Hardwood 400 Legend 20" 4rd 3-9x40mm Scope Rifle

The Axis 2 XP Hardwood is a ready to hunt package: rifle, scope and bases in one box. This one is chambered in 400 Legend, the straight wall cartridge that opens up deer hunting in states with straight wall rules, and it carries a 20" matte black sporter barrel with a 1:16 twist. A 3-9x40mm scope with fully multi coated lenses and tool free windage and elevation adjustments comes mounted on two Weaver style bases and boresighted at the factory, so you only need to zero it at the range.

Savage redesigned the Axis 2 with better ergonomics. The hardwood stock gives the classic look of wood with laser cut stippling on the pistol grip and forend, and the updated grip has ambidextrous palm swells. The reshaped bolt handle is easier to run with cold or wet hands. Under the hood, the user adjustable AccuTrigger and thread in headspacing deliver accuracy you do not usually see at this level, and the rifle feeds from a 4 round detachable box magazine. It is a straightforward, accurate whitetail rifle for a first deer gun or a dedicated straight wall rig.
