The Ruger MAX-9 Long extends the standard MAX-9 micro compact with a 4" barrel for a better sight radius and a touch more velocity while keeping the slim carry profile that made the original a hit. The slide is cut from the factory for a red dot footprint, and the matte black finish on the slide pairs with a black polymer frame for a subdued working gun look. Capacity runs 12 rounds of 9mm in a single stack feed.
Safety features include an integrated trigger safety, internal striker block, and a manual thumb safety for shooters who want that option. The flat faced trigger has a short reset, and the low bore axis keeps recoil flat and muzzle rise predictable on follow up shots. Iron sights co-witness with most popular micro red dots, so the gun stays usable if a dot goes down. For concealed carry with a little extra sight radius, or for home defense in a gun that still points naturally, the MAX-9 Long hits a useful middle ground.
