About the Ruger LCP MAX 380
The LCP MAX took the pocket 380 formula Ruger has been refining since 2008 and roughly doubled the ammunition without growing the gun. Ten rounds ride in a flush magazine, the slide stays under an inch wide, and the whole thing still drops into a pocket holster the way the original LCP did. This version adds a manual safety on the left side of the frame that blocks the sear when it is engaged, for shooters who want a mechanical safety on a gun that shares pocket space with keys and a phone.
The barrel measures 2.8" and the slide is finished in black. Up front is a tritium sight with a white outline, a real upgrade over the molded plastic bump most pocket 380s use, and the rear sight drifts for windage. The trigger is Ruger's Secure Action, a hammer fired design with a protected internal hammer and a bladed trigger safety, which gives a smoother and lighter press than the long stroke older pocket guns are known for. At roughly ten and a half ounces empty it is light enough that people actually carry it rather than leaving it in a drawer, and the flush 10 round magazine means backup capacity is not an afterthought.
