Ruger American Gen II Wilderness TOPO 7mm-08 20" 3rd Rifle

Ruger's American Rifle Generation II fixed most of the complaints about the original. The 20" barrel is cold hammer forged with deep spiral flutes to shed weight, and it comes threaded with a factory radial port brake already installed. The stock has an adjustable length of pull with a removable spacer and a low comb that lifts out when you mount a taller scope, so one rifle fits a range of shooters instead of just the average one.

In 7mm-08 this is about as pleasant a deer rifle as a 20" barrel gets. The cartridge does what a 308 does on game with less recoil, and it shoots flat enough for open country work. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger lets the owner set the break, the one piece stainless bolt has a 70 degree throw for scope clearance, and a three position tang safety allows loading and unloading with the striker blocked. A Picatinny scope base is included, and the three round magazine sits flush with the stock.
