Ruger American Gen II Predator Wilderness TOPO 7mm-08 22" 3rd Rifle

The Predator version of the Generation II American gets a 22" barrel and burnt bronze metalwork over a green splatter stock, which is a good bit less conspicuous in a cut field than a black rifle. The barrel is cold hammer forged, deeply spiral fluted, threaded at the muzzle, and comes with a radial port brake installed from the factory.

7mm-08 is a quiet favorite among people who shoot a lot of deer. It matches the 308 on game with a softer recoil impulse, and the extra two inches of barrel over the standard Gen II wrings a little more out of it. The rifle holds three rounds in a flush magazine, wears a Picatinny base from the factory, and uses the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger that the owner sets rather than a gunsmith. Length of pull adjusts with a removable spacer, and the low comb lifts out for taller scope rings. The three position tang safety allows unloading with the striker blocked, and the one piece stainless bolt runs on a 70 degree throw so a big objective clears the handle.
