Ruger American Gen II Prairie 6.5 CM 20" 3rd Rifle

The Ruger American Gen II Prairie is the heavy barrel member of the Gen II family, built for long shots across open country. Its 20" cold hammer forged barrel has a bull contour for stability and less felt recoil, with shallow spiral flutes for cooling, and it is threaded 5/8-24 with a thread protector installed. Barrel, receiver and bolt handle wear Smoked Bronze Cerakote, and the synthetic stock is black with splatter texture. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, it feeds from a detachable 3 round AI style magazine.

Fit is adjustable out of the box. Remove the spacer and length of pull drops from 13.75" to 12", and the installed low comb puts your eye behind a scope or comes off for low mounts. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger breaks clean, and the three position tang safety locks the bolt while still letting you load and unload with the safety on. Power Bedding locates the receiver and free floats the barrel. The stainless three lug bolt runs a 70 degree throw that clears big scopes, and a one piece Picatinny base comes installed. At 7 lbs it is a practical rifle for pronghorn, deer and steel.
