Rock Island Armory VRF14 Long 12 GA 20" 5rd Shotgun

The VRF14 Long is the stocked, 20" barrel version of the VR series gas gun Rock Island Armory built around AR style ergonomics. Instead of a tube magazine you feed it from a detachable box magazine, and instead of a shotgun stock and safety layout you get a pistol grip, an AR pattern selector and a buttstock on a receiver extension. For anyone who spends their range time behind a carbine, that means no relearning where the controls live when the gun in hand is a 12 gauge.

The chamber is cut for 3" shells, and the gas system runs the action so recoil is spread out rather than delivered in one shove the way a pump gun does. Five rounds ride in the magazine with a sixth in the chamber, and swapping to a fresh magazine is faster than stuffing shells through a loading port under pressure. Sights flip up front and rear when you want them and fold flat when you do not, and there is rail on top for a red dot. At 20" the barrel is long enough to keep the pattern sensible and short enough to work indoors or from a vehicle. It is a straightforward defensive and range gun that happens to accept magazines.
