The 26 inch barrel is the length most upland hunters settle on. It gives up very little handling in thick cover while adding just enough weight out front to keep a swing moving through the bird on open ground. The receiver is aluminum with a slopeback profile, drilled and tapped, and it keeps the whole gun down around 6 pounds 3 ounces.

Retay powers the ACE with a straight line inertia action rather than gas, so nothing from the shell gets vented back into the receiver. Cleaning is a short job and the gun keeps running through a long season. The barrel is deep bore drilled and the forcing cone comes lengthened from the factory, both of which help the pattern hold together downrange. Sighting is a single fiber optic bead. The trigger group pulls out with a push button for cleaning, and the oversized safety can be reversed for left handed shooters. The stock is AA grade satin walnut over a 14.5 inch length of pull, and a shim kit lets you change drop and cast to fit your face rather than the other way around. It handles 12 gauge shells up to 3 inches and holds 3 rounds, with five flush chokes covering cylinder through full.
