Proof Research Steel Drop in Barrel Ar 15 223 Wylde 20 inch 1x8 Twist 1/2 28

The Proof Steel Drop in Barrel for Rifle Gas System AR-15 Compatible Firearms 223 Wylde 20" 1:8 Twist 1/2-28 from Proof Research blends precision engineering with modern performance to deliver a tuned experience for high-performance cartridges. Proof designed their AR barrels with the goal of improving reliability and accuracy, using their Caliber Matched Gas System (CAMGAS) to align gas port timing with the cartridge and barrel length, so the AR platform operates as originally intended even with demanding rounds. By relocating the gas port, this 20-inch, 1:8 twist, 1/2-28 threaded barrel maintains consistent gas system pressure for cartridges like 223 Wylde, 22 Nosler, and 6.5 Creedmoor, resulting in a noticeably softer recoil impulse, reduced fouling in the receiver, enhanced extraction reliability, and less wear on brass. The outcome is improved consistency and sustained performance across extended shooting sessions, enabling you to stay on target while taking full advantage of high-performance cartridges. Crafted for AR-15 compatible firearms, this drop-in barrel integrates seamlessly into builds or upgrades, delivering enhanced accuracy, durability, and long-term reliability without compromising ease of installation.
