A 20 inch pre-fit for the Tikka T3x in 25 Creedmoor. The cartridge is a 6.5 Creedmoor case necked down to .257, and it exists because quarter bore bullets finally caught up with the rest of the market. For decades the .25 calibers were stuck with short, blunt hunting bullets; the current crop is long and sleek, and the Creedmoor case pushes them fast enough to make the whole idea work.

As a pre-fit, the shank and threads are cut to Tikka T3x spec and headspace is set at the factory, so a barrel nut and a wrench get it onto the action. Proof Research handles the chamber and the crown. Twenty inches keeps a hunting rifle honest in weight and length, and a 25 Creedmoor at that length still carries plenty for deer and antelope sized game at reasonable distance.
