PROOF Research Pre-Fit Barrel Sig CROSS 25 Creedmoor 20"

The Sig CROSS was designed around a barrel that comes off, and PROOF builds pre-fits that take advantage of it. This one is 20" chambered in 25 Creedmoor, which necks the Creedmoor case to .257 and drives long, heavy quarter bore bullets flatter than a 6.5 at the same powder charge. It has become a favorite for open country hunting where wind is the problem.

A pre-fit means the shoulder, threads and headspace are already cut for the CROSS, so changing chamberings is a bench job with a torque wrench rather than lathe work at a gunsmith. PROOF has built its name on match grade barrels, and on a rifle meant to be carried, what comes off the muzzle end changes how it handles offhand more than anything else you can do to it.
