PROOF Research Competition PXT 224 Barrel Blank 26" 1:7 Twist

PROOF Research lists this one as a Competition PXT barrel blank in 224 bore, 26" long, with a 1:7 twist. It comes unchambered, which is the point of a blank: the gunsmith cuts the chamber, threads the shank and turns the contour to suit the action and the cartridge the rifle is being built around.

The 1:7 twist is the fast end of the 22 caliber range and it exists for heavy bullets, the long ones that need spin to stay stable at distance. Combine that with 26" of barrel and the intent is obvious enough: a match rifle meant to hold a group when the wind picks up, not a lightweight walking gun.
