Black powder and the substitute charges bake a hard crust into a bore that patches slide straight over. This Pro-Shot scraper is turned from solid brass and threads onto a 10-32 cleaning rod, so the rod carries it down to the fouling instead of leaving you to work at the muzzle with a hand tool.

Brass is soft against barrel steel, which matters in a muzzleloader bore that meets a scraper far more often than a modern rifle ever will. It is sized for 45 through 58 caliber bores. Work it in short strokes to break the compacted build up loose, then follow with a patch and solvent to carry the debris out.
