Primary Weapons Systems builds the MK216 Mod 2 around its long stroke piston system rather than direct impingement, so combustion gas and the carbon that rides with it stay out of the receiver. The three setting adjustable gas system lets you tune the rifle to the ammunition in the magazine, or dial it back when a suppressor goes on the muzzle and back pressure climbs. Barrel length is 16.1" in 308 Win, which keeps a full power cartridge in a package that still handles like a carbine.

Controls are ambidextrous, so the rifle works the same way from either shoulder, which matters when you are working around a barricade or shooting from your support side. The M-LOK handguard covers the piston system and gives direct attachment points for a bipod, sling mount or light without carrying rail sections you never use. A Magpul SL stock and the PWS enhanced grip finish the furniture, and one 20 round magazine comes with the rifle. Between the piston, the adjustable gas settings and the 308 Win chambering, this one is set up to run suppressed and stay clean doing it.
