The Pillar Bed Stock from Hogue is a drop-in solution for sporterized M98 large ring Mauser rifles and Czech-made Mauser VZ 24s, designed to drop in with virtually all M98 trigger mechanisms, factory or aftermarket, with no modifications. This stock features a free-floating barrel channel that will accommodate most #2-#3 taper barrels, while its receiver channel measures 1.180" and tapers to .820" at the tip of the fore-end, allowing for precise alignment and improved accuracy. The rubber-lined barrel channel can be easily enlarged to fit larger barrels or military stepped barrels, and the stock is relieved for bent down or swept-back bolt handles, with straight military bolt handles also functioning seamlessly. A hidden cutout accommodates sliding style side safeties, with gaps not showing on rifles using common wing style bolt safeties, yet easily modifiable to accommodate side safeties if desired. Floor-plate considerations include a cutout for shorter FN floor-plates without a lock screw on the front tang, and the rubber can be trimmed to fit longer front tangs; the floor-plate inlet is relieved for push-button style hinging box magazine doors.
