Mossberg Patriot 270 Win 22" 5rd OD Green Rifle

The green stock on this Patriot is not a paint job over a standard rifle. Mossberg runs the OD Green Patriots as their own batch, and this one is chambered in 270 Win with a 22" fluted barrel over matte blued steel. Fluting sheds weight where a rifle carries it worst, out past the forend, so the balance point sits back closer to the hands. The user adjustable trigger lets the pull be dialed to the shooter, and the bolt lifts at a low enough angle to clear a scope bell without knuckle rash.

270 Win has been taking elk, mule deer, and everything smaller since 1925, and it does it with a flat trajectory that forgives a range estimate off by fifty yards. It is a long action cartridge, so the rifle runs slightly longer than the short action chamberings, but the payoff is reach. The 5rd detachable box magazine drops out with a squeeze of the latch, the receiver is drilled and tapped, and the synthetic stock shrugs off rain and brush. Put a 3-9x or a 4-12x scope on top and this is a complete Western hunting rifle.
