The Mossberg Gold Reserve 16 Gauge is a classic over/under field shotgun chambered in a resurgent gauge that splits the difference between 12 and 20 for upland hunters. The 30" vent-rib barrels give you the sight plane and swing inertia a field shotgun should have, while the 16 gauge chambering throws a lighter-recoiling load than 12 with more pattern density than 20 — historically the sweet-spot gauge for grouse, pheasant, and mixed-bag upland days.
The Gold Reserve pairs a matte blue barrel set with a polished silver receiver accented by gold-inlaid game bird engraving, giving it the dress-up look of a traditional field gun without the custom-gun price. Features include a single selective trigger, tang-mounted auto safety with barrel selector, extractors, and a set of interchangeable flush-fit choke tubes for any upland load. The walnut stock is checkered at the grip and forend for a secure hold in wet conditions, and the rubber recoil pad cushions follow-up shots. 2-round capacity, break-action, chambered for 2 3/4" shells.
