MDT Backcountry Picatinny Bipod

The Backcountry is MDT's bipod for people who count ounces before a hike. It weighs 5 oz, with carbon fiber legs and aluminum and titanium hardware, and it clamps straight to a Picatinny rail. The legs deploy at 0 or 90 degrees with a push button and lock at length with a twist collar.

It comes from the same New Zealand design as the MDT Mountain bipod but gives up leg splay and some adjustment to save weight. That is the trade you are making. The head pans a full 360 degrees and cants 80 degrees, so the rifle can be leveled on broken ground without picking the legs up and starting over.
