Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x40mm Straight Wall Duplex Riflescope

Straight wall cartridges changed deer season in the states that restrict bottleneck rounds, but they brought a lot of bullet drop along with them at ranges that used to be simple. The VX-Freedom 3-9x40 Straight Wall was built around that problem.

It arrives set up for 350 Legend with a 165gr dial, and two more dials come in the box: 450 Bushmaster with a 250gr load and 400 Legend with a 210gr load. Swap in the dial that matches what the rifle is fed and the elevation knob reads in yardage instead of clicks, which is a great deal faster to use from a stand than counting turns. Behind that sits a straightforward 3-9x40 with a 1 inch main tube, and a Duplex reticle in the second focal plane. It is the kind of scope a hunter mounts once, zeroes, and stops thinking about.
