KGM built the R30A2 against SOCOM's criteria for full auto fire, accuracy and repeatability, then pointed it at 7.62 and 308 rifles down to 12.5" short barrels that punish a lesser can. Inconel and hardened stainless steel handle the heat and pressure that come with sustained fire, and the minimized back pressure layout keeps gas from flooding back into the receiver of a semi auto.
Gas routing does double duty here. Pulling flow away from the bullet path protects precision, while the engineered path through the baffle stack cuts flash, recoil and sound. It mounts quick detach over a 5/8-24 flash hider, weighs 19.4 oz and adds 6.4" to the rifle. That is a working weight for a can meant to be shot hard rather than carried up a mountain, and the black finish matches the duty rifles it belongs on.
