Hornady Back Country Defense 9mm Luger Dgh Jacketed Point 138 Grain 25 Rounds

The Hornady Back Country Defense Pistol Ammo 9mm +P 138 gr. DGH offers backcountry shooters and hunters a loaded option built around the DGH (Dangerous Game Handgun) series that locks the jacketed, protected point to the core for maximum straightline penetration while reducing deflection on bone and heavy tissue, giving you reliable terminal performance when a second chance may not exist. With a heavy-for-caliber 138 grain bullet launched at about 1185 fps producing roughly 430 ft?lbs of muzzle energy, this +P load delivers increased energy from a compact sidearm for close-range bear, elk calf, or defensive scenarios in remote terrain. Because the jacketed DGH design produces no lead smoke like hard cast bullets, you get faster follow-up shots and clearer sight picture under stress. Whether you carry a stout 9mm pistol for hiking, pack trips, guiding, or as a travel guardian in heavy country, this round balances deep penetration and controlled performance so shots through bone or thick hide remain predictable, repeatable, and easier to manage for confident shot placement in critical backcountry encounters.
