American Whitetail Tipped is Hornady's deer season load, built on bullets that have been dropping whitetails for years and loaded to conventional velocities. This one pairs the 154gr SST with the 7mm PRC, a short magnum with plenty of reach for open country hunts.

The SST uses a secant ogive profile and Hornady's InterLock ring, which keeps core and jacket together as the bullet opens. On impact the polymer tip drives into the lead core and starts fast, controlled expansion, so the bullet hits hard on deer yet holds enough weight for penetration.
