About the Horizon Firearms Vandal DM
308 Winchester in the Vandal DM is the practical build. An 18 inch spiral fluted steel barrel in black chrome, threaded at the muzzle, keeps the rifle short and the balance neutral, and 308 does not need barrel length the way the fast magnums do. It is also the easiest chambering here to feed, with factory match ammunition on every shelf.
The rifle rides in an XLR Element 4.0 chassis, black anodized aluminum, with an ARCA rail on the forend for tripods, clamps and bag riders. The receiver is black chrome with a picatinny rail for the optic. Horizon built the Vandal DM as its first chassis rifle and aimed it at shooters stepping into precision competition, and 308 fits the entry point - components are cheap to come by, barrel life is long, and a suppressor on the threaded muzzle tames the report enough to shoot a long string without wearing the shooter out.
