About the Horizon Firearms Vandal DM
25 Creedmoor is the quarter bore answer to the wind, and the Vandal DM gives it an 18 inch spiral fluted steel barrel finished in black chrome and threaded at the muzzle. The short barrel keeps the rifle manageable on a stage where it has to be picked up, moved and set back down under a clock, without asking much of the cartridge - the quarter bore bullets this chambering is built around still carry well out of a short barrel.
The chassis is an XLR Element 4.0 in black anodized aluminum with an ARCA rail on the forend, so bags, tripods and clamps mount directly. A picatinny rail on the black chrome receiver takes the optic. Horizon built the DM as its first chassis rifle and aimed it at shooters stepping into precision competition, which shows in the layout more than in any single component: everything on the gun is there to be adjusted, clamped to, or hung off of during a match.
