The Henry H12 Protector Carbine brings Henry's side-gate lever platform to a short-barrel 44 Magnum configuration. A 16.5-inch round blued barrel with 5/8x24 threaded muzzle accepts muzzle devices or a suppressor, and the blued steel drilled-and-tapped receiver makes optic mounting straightforward for reflex sights or scout scopes.

American walnut furniture and a fixed pistol-grip stock give the Protector Carbine a traditional look with modern working-gun ergonomics. A seven-round tubular magazine (loadable from the side gate or tube), enlarged lever loop, and just 34 inches overall make this rifle fast handling in tight spaces. 44 Magnum chambering also shoots 44 Special for soft-recoiling practice and carry loads.
