Guntec USA AR-10 LR-308 A2 Rifle Buffer

A fixed A2 stock puts a rifle length receiver extension on the back of the gun, and that tube takes a rifle length buffer rather than the carbine part most people have sitting in a parts bin. This is the 308 pattern version from Guntec USA.

It goes in as a straight replacement for a buffer that is worn, rattling or simply missing from a used upper and lower pairing. Buffer choice is where a lot of cycling trouble on a 308 gas gun gets sorted out, so if a rifle is short stroking or throwing brass into the next county, look at the back of the receiver extension before anyone starts turning screws on the gas block.
