The Glock G23 Gen5 MOS takes everything good about the standard Gen5 G23 and adds a factory milled optic mounting system on top of the slide. The Modular Optic System (MOS) comes with adapter plates that accept most popular micro red dots without sending your slide out for custom milling. Under the optic cut sits the same 4.02" Glock Marksman Barrel with enhanced rifling and the nDLC finished slide that handles years of holster wear. The compact 40 S&W frame takes 10 round magazines, and Glock includes three of them in the box along with the MOS adapter plates and cover plate.
Running an optic on a pistol has gone from competition trick to standard practice, and the MOS system makes the transition simple. The front serrations on the slide give you a grip point for press checks even with an optic mounted. Same Gen5 improvements carry over: no finger grooves on the front strap, flared magazine well, ambidextrous slide stop, and interchangeable backstraps to dial in your grip size. The raised steel sights work as backup irons that co-witness with most optics mounted on the MOS plates. The 40 S&W cartridge in this compact frame gives you a meaningful step up in terminal performance over 9mm while sharing the same footprint as the popular G19 family.
