About the Gemtech Trek II 5.56mm
The Trek II is Gemtech's short, rugged direct thread can for 5.56 NATO and 223 Remington rifles. It threads straight onto a 1/2-28 muzzle, runs 5.7" long and 1.5" in diameter, and weighs about 16.1 oz. That short length keeps a carbine handy, and the can is rated for barrels 10.3" and longer, full auto included.
The tube is stainless steel with non-welded, one piece construction that makes cleaning simple. The design also allows it to be pinned to a barrel 11" or longer to reach a non-SBR overall length. The finish is black high temperature Cerakote. A good fit for a short barrel 5.56 carbine or SBR build that needs a tough, simple can without a lot of extra length.
