The 25 Creedmoor is the newest quarter bore to pick up a real following, and the reason is simple. It takes the short action Creedmoor case and necks it to .257, which finally lets a quarter bore run the long, heavy 25 caliber bullets nobody was making when the older .25s were drawn up. What a shooter gets is a cartridge that shoots flat, holds its line in wind better than the recoil would suggest, and stays comfortable over a long string of shots. It fits deer and antelope work, it is at home in open country where shots stretch out, and it will not beat anyone up on paper. A 22 inch barrel is the middle ground for it, short enough to handle in timber and long enough to keep velocity where the cartridge wants it.
