Number 2 steel is the big end of the 20 gauge waterfowl range. Fewer pellets, more weight behind each one, and enough retained energy to reach out past the decoy spread when geese or late season mallards hang up wide. Federal loads a full ounce in a 3" hull at 1400 fps, which is a serious payload for the gauge.

Federal developed the recipe with Rob Roberts so the pellets and wad hold together through the tight constriction of a Raptor choke tube rather than blowing the pattern. Clean burning powder and a hot primer keep velocity steady across a cold morning. Comes as a 25rd box.
