Federal took the Fusion bullet, the bonded deer hunting bullet with the jacket joined to its core, and reworked it to open at 1000 fps. That is the hard part of subsonic hunting ammunition, since most expanding bullets need impact speed they simply do not have down there.

The result is a quiet 45-70 load for a suppressed lever gun that still cuts a real wound channel through a whitetail at woods range. No sonic crack, light recoil compared to standard 45-70, and a 300gr bullet that stays in one piece. Federal loads it 20rd per box.
