Federal Champion 250th Anniversary 22 LR 36gr CPHP 250rd Box

Federal put its Champion rimfire load in commemorative packaging for the country's 250th birthday. Inside is Champion 22 LR: a 36 grain copper plated hollow point at 1260 fps that Federal lists as a target load.

Copper plating keeps lead fouling out of a bore better than a bare lead bullet does, and the hollow point nose opens where a round nose would not. A 250rd box is bulk pack territory, which is how most 22 LR is bought and shot, and the box design is a limited run tied to the anniversary. Ordinary rimfire performance in a box worth keeping when it is empty.
