Faxon Firearms FX7 308 Win 22" M24 Barreled Action

This Faxon FX7 barreled action pairs the FX7 short action and bolt with a 22" 308 Winchester barrel in the heavy M24 contour, installed and headspaced at Faxon. The M24 profile keeps weight along the full length of the barrel, which helps it hold zero as it heats up during long strings at the range. The bore is 5R button rifled with a 1:10 twist and finished with salt bath nitride, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 behind a recessed target crown.

The receiver is stainless steel with a matte DLC finish, a six lug bolt in two rings of three and a short 70 degree bolt lift. A 20 MOA Picatinny rail and the recoil lug are machined in. It uses the Remington 700 short action footprint, so it fits the triggers, stocks and chassis built for that pattern and runs AICS and AW pattern magazines. You supply the trigger, stock or chassis and magazine. For a heavy barreled 308 precision build or a target rifle, it skips the gunsmith step entirely.
