Colt King Cobra Target 22 LR 2" 10rd Revolver

Colt brought the snake guns back, and the King Cobra Target in 22 LR is the one you actually shoot the most. Ten rounds fill the cylinder instead of the usual six, so there is more trigger time between reloads, and rimfire ammunition costs little enough that a range session does not have to end early. The 2" barrel makes this the most compact version of the gun - it rides easy in a truck console or a tackle box and points fast at close targets.

Under the polished blued finish is US forged carbon steel: frame, cylinder, and a one piece barrel with a vent rib and a recessed target crown. That steel weight is welcome on a rimfire, because it settles the sights and makes the double action pull feel smoother than the numbers suggest. The action runs both ways, double action for fast work and a single action hammer cock for precise shots. Sights are a red fiber optic up front against a fully adjustable rear, so you can zero it to whatever load groups best. Hogue Overmolded rubber grips fill the hand and take the sting out of a long string. For teaching a new shooter revolver fundamentals, this is hard to beat.
