The FL19 runs a wide flood beam instead of a tight spot, which is what you actually want strapped to your head. It fills the whole work area evenly, so your eyes are not chasing a hot center circle every time you turn to look at something. High output is 365 lumens and low is 62, running about three hours and eighteen hours respectively.

A red mode is there for map reading, walking in before daylight, or anything that should not blind the person standing next to you. Power is three AAA batteries, which come in the box, and the head tilts so you can aim the beam down at close work. The housing is sealed against rain and splashing.
