Christensen Arms Ridgeline Safari Plains Game 300 Win Mag 22" Rifle

The Ridgeline Safari is Christensen's answer to a walnut stocked magnum rifle that does not weigh like one. The stock is European walnut cut in a classic profile, and it sits over a stainless action and a carbon fiber wrapped barrel that is hand lapped and free float. In 300 Win Mag the 22" barrel is short by old magnum standards, and the radial brake at the muzzle is what makes that work: recoil arrives as a shove instead of a slap, and the shooter can stay in the scope long enough to see where the bullet went.

Front and rear QD mounts are built into the stock, so a sling clips on without adding studs, and a Picatinny section on the forend takes a bipod or a tripod clamp for open country. The receiver is drilled and tapped on the Remington 700 pattern, which means bases and rings are on the shelf at any shop instead of on backorder from one supplier. A TriggerTech trigger handles the break. 300 Win Mag is still the North American all rounder for elk and open country deer, and it has enough authority for plains game, which is where the Safari name comes from. Wood, stainless, and carbon fiber sounds like an odd mix on paper. On the shoulder it works.
