Christensen Arms Mesa FFT Buckmasters 7mm-08 20" 4rd Rifle

Christensen Arms built the Mesa FFT for hunters who walk, and the Buckmasters edition adds an orange and black stock finish to the platform. This one is chambered in 7mm-08 Rem, a short action cartridge that pushes 140 grain class bullets fast enough for deer and elk sized game while kicking noticeably less than a 30 caliber magnum. Put that in a rifle with a 20" barrel and a carbon fiber stock and the result is easy to carry and easy to shoot well from field positions, which is most of what a hunting rifle is asked to do.

The stainless barrel is hand lapped and free floated, with a #4 contour. The muzzle is threaded, so a brake or a can goes on without extra machining. Inside, the action is spot bedded to the stock and fitted with a TriggerTech trigger, and the bolt handle is skeletonized to trim more weight. The receiver is drilled and tapped for bases. Four rounds in the magazine. For a hunter who has been packing a heavier rifle out of habit, this is the kind of gun that makes the walk in shorter without making the shot at the end any harder.
