Mounting flexibility is the reason to look at the VOID-556. The rear carries industry standard 1.375x24 HUB threads, and a 1/2-28 direct thread adapter is included, so a shooter can run it on the mount system already owned or thread it straight onto a 5.56 barrel with nothing else purchased. Canik builds the tube from heat treated stainless steel with a Cerakote finish.
Tuning happens at the front. A solid end cap gives the quietest setting, while the low back pressure cap vents more gas forward and keeps it out of the receiver, which matters on a short gassed AR that already over cycles. The can measures 6.1" long and 1.625" in diameter and weighs 14.9 oz, with the first baffle 1.8" back from the rear face. Stainless is the tradeoff here: more ounces than titanium, and a great deal less concern about how hard it gets used.
