Browning Buck Mark Field/Target Micro 22 LR 4" 10rd Pistol

The Buck Mark is Browning's rimfire pistol line, and the Field/Target Micro is the short barrel version of the target configuration. This one runs a 4 inch barrel chambered in 22 Long Rifle and comes with two 10 round magazines, which is a useful detail because a spare magazine is what keeps a rimfire range session moving. Buck Marks have been in production for a long time and the aftermarket around them is deep, so grips, sights and holsters are easy to come by.

A 22 LR pistol earns its keep in two places. The first is training, because trigger control and sight alignment are the same skills at any caliber and rimfire ammunition lets a shooter work on them for far longer per session than a centerfire gun allows. The second is small game and casual field shooting, which is where the Field/Target designation points. The shorter Micro configuration handles quickly and packs easily, and the 22 LR cartridge produces almost no recoil and very little muzzle blast, so new shooters can be taught on it without flinch becoming a problem. Two magazines in the box means less time loading and more time shooting.
