Berger Classic Hunter 30-06 Sprg 168gr BTHP 20rd Box

Berger built the Classic Hunter around a hybrid ogive, which is a fancy way of saying the bullet is tolerant of where it sits relative to the rifling. That tolerance is why these shoot well in standard 30-06 rifles instead of only in custom chambers with tight throats. The J4 hunting jacket is thinner than Berger's target jackets, so the 168gr bullet penetrates two to three inches before it opens up.

What follows is a large wound cavity and fast energy transfer inside the animal rather than a pass through that wastes most of it. Muzzle velocity runs around 2850 fps. This is a 20rd box for hunters who would rather not work up a handload to get that bullet.
