Bergara B-14 Wilderness HMR 25 Creedmoor 24" 5rd Gray Rifle

Bergara's Wilderness series exists for rifles that get rained on. The stocks are hand painted camouflage with webbing added for texture, and the metal wears Sniper Gray Cerakote. On the HMR the stock has a mini chassis molded into it, which gives the action a metal bedding surface and repeatable torque instead of a synthetic shell that flexes with temperature. This one is chambered in 25 Creedmoor with a 24" threaded barrel and a 5 round AICS pattern magazine.

Twenty four inches of barrel suits the cartridge. 25 Creedmoor is a quarter bore built on the Creedmoor case, and the longer tube lets it run heavier bullets at the speed that makes it interesting for deer sized game and for shooting past where most hunters stop. The fit is adjustable: the cheek piece moves for comb height and spacers change the length of pull, so the rifle can be set up for a heavy coat or a t-shirt. Bergara includes QD flush cups in the stock, a fluted bolt, the Performance trigger, an Omni muzzle brake, and a steel receiver drilled and tapped for Remington 700 pattern bases. It weighs about ten pounds ready to shoot, which is heavy to carry and steady to shoot, exactly the trade this rifle is built around.
