The Devour cover is intended for bolt action rifles and allows limited firing on semi-automatic firearms, with a clear caution that it is not rated for high rates of fire exceeding an operating temperature of 450F. For best results, firing should be limited to permit cooling between cycles, as 450F is reached with about 20 consecutive rounds on .308 bolt actions or 30 consecutive rounds of 5.56 semi-auto use.
