Athlon Ares HLR 2.5-15x42mm APLR-H2 Illuminated Riflescope

A 2.5x bottom end is the useful part of this Ares HLR configuration. Dropping to 2.5x gives a wide field of view for a running shot or a close stand, and 15x on the top end is still plenty of magnification to read a target at distance. The 42mm objective keeps the front end reasonable, so the scope mounts lower than a 50mm bell allows.

The APLR-H2 reticle is illuminated and sits in the second focal plane with MOA holds, so the reticle looks the same at every power setting. A 30mm main tube handles the elevation travel and matches common rings. It is a sensible spread for a hunting rifle that also gets shot at longer range on a weekend, rather than a dedicated match optic that never comes off the bipod.
